2025 Ford Expedition Remote Start Is Late Availability Feature

Remote start is a convenient feature that preconditions a vehicle before you drive, warming up the engine and adjusting the cabin to the ideal temperature. Buyers considering the 2025 Ford Expedition should note that remote start was not available at launch but will be added to the full-size SUV later in the model year as a late availability feature.

The good news is that when remote start makes its way to the 2025 Ford Expedition, it will be a standard feature on King Ranch and Platinum trims, meaning it will not add any extra cost to these models. It’s also set to be offered on the base Expedition Active, but requires that the $4,215 Active Touring Edition (equipment group 202A) bundle be added to the full-size SUV.

As of now, Ford has not announced when remote start will be added to the 2025 Ford Expedition. However, the feature is expected to join the lineup as of Job 2 production at the Kentucky Truck plant. For reference, the redesigned 2025 Expedition has been in production since early January.

Pricing for the full-size SUV starts at $62,000, not including destination freight charges (DFC), for the entry level Active trim – which itself received a midyear price bump. The Platinum stickers at $74,430, while the King Ranch starts at $83,655. However, when fully equipped, the Expedition can get quite expensive, costing as much as $90,000 for the range-topping Platinum with all the bells and whistles tacked on.

Power for the 2025 Expedition is sourced from the twin turbocharged 3.5L V6 EcoBoost engine, which churns out 400 horsepower and 480 pound-feet of torque in standard guise, or 440 horsepower and 510 pound-feet in the high-output version, which is an optional upgrade on the Platinum trim and standard on the all-new Tremor.

Other notable features that dropped with the redesigned 2025 Expedition include the unique Split Gate and the Flex Powered Console. The 2025 Expedition one of the few models in The Blue Oval’s lineup to retain the factory keyless entry keypad, and it features a revamped exterior color lineup that now includes new hues like Space Silver Metallic. There are also a plethora of packages available, ranging from aesthetic touches to mechanical upgrade. That’s to say nothing of the all-new off-road-focused Tremor trim.

  1. That family camping photo makes zero sense.

  2. There are third market kits to add remote start on any Ford. My 2014 Fusion Hybrid did not have the factory option, but a $200 kit at eBay was easy to install and uses the original fob to operate. Do the same for any Ford!
