The Ford Mustang Mach-E competes in a rather crowded space at the moment, with consumers having many all-electric crossovers to choose from these days. As such, The Blue Oval continues to update the Mach-E with each passing model year, and for 2025, the EV crossover is getting a standard heat pump, the new Sport Appearance Package, a relocated shifter, the Ford Connectivity Package, and a few other tweaks – changes accompanied by a price reduction across the board, too. Now, one of the Mach-E’s rivals – the 2025 Honda Prologue – has received a few updates for its second year of production, too.
The 2025 Honda Prologue may still be a fairly new product – not to mention that automaker’s first dedicated EV sold in the U.S. – but it’s still getting at least one major update for the new model year – the addition of a new front power unit that improves output and range. The single-motor, front-wheel drive Prologue has received an eight horsepower pump, resulting in an output of 220 horsepower, plus seven more pound-feet of torque, taking it up to 243. Range also improves by 12 miles, from 296 to 308.
As for the dual-motor all-wheel drive 2025 Honda Prologue, it gets 12 additional horsepower – taking that figure up to 300 – and 25 more pound-feet of torque, which now comes in at 355. In terms of range, the EX and Touring trims have added 13 miles, resulting in a 294-mile range, while the Elite trim increases by 10 to a total of 328 miles of range.
Despite these improvements, the 2025 Honda Prologue isn’t too much pricier than its predecessor. The base EX front-wheel drive configuration starts out at $48,850 – a mere $55 bump compared to 2024. The Touring starts out at $53,150 in front-wheel drive guise, while adding all-wheel drive to it or the EX costs an extra $3,000. Finally, the range-topping Elite starts out at $59,350 and comes with AWD as standard – and on top of that, all Prologue models qualify for the $7,500 federal tax credit.
Comments
The Prologue is a much larger vehicle than the Mach-E, I would not say they are direct competitors, other than, they are both EV crossovers. But the Prologue is in a different size class.
Regardless of size or price, the Honda Prologue will handily outsell the Mustang Mach-E, since it won’t have quality control issues that most if not all Ford products have.
