Debuting as a complete redesign, the 2025 Lincoln Navigator brings a wide array of new features and updates to the luxury SUV. It carries forward with a single powertrain option, and today, Ford Authority breaks down everything there is to know about the engine.
That sole powertrain is the twin-turbocharged 3.5L EcoBoost V6 engine. Built at the Cleveland Engine Plant in Cleveland, Ohio, this engine delivers 440 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque, more than enough to motivate the 2025 Lincoln Navigator. Note that this output is exactly the same as the high-output version of that same 3.5L V6 engine found under the hood of the 2025 Ford Expedition, which is optional on most trims and standard on the all-new Tremor trim.
The 2025 Lincoln Navigator supports four-wheel-drive (4WD) and is exclusively mated to the 10-speed automatic transmission. This powertrain is standard on both Navigator trims, including Reserve and Black Label.
While a hybrid powertrain is notably absent from the 2025 Lincoln Navigator lineup, looking ahead, the luxury SUV – and its platform mate, the Expedition – could offer a hybrid option as soon as 2028. Ford aims to add a a hybrid option to every model in its lineup by 2030, having walked back on its ambitions to offer an all-electric lineup by the end of the decade, which would align perfectly with the advent of a hybrid powertrain for the Navigator in 2028.
Notably, the 2025 Lincoln Navigator sports a fresh face with an integrated coast-to-coast lightbar up front. Out back, it gets the new split-gate tailgate design for ease of access. Its cockpit now boasts a massive 48-inch panoramic display spanning the entire width of the dash, which is paired with an 11.1-inch center touchscreen. That screen supports Pano Mode, which enables users to play video or gaming apps on either side of the panoramic display when the SUV is in park, and drivers can create their own profiles that are stored via the key fob or smartphone. BlueCruise is standard across the lineup.
While it starts just shy of $100,000, when fully kitted out, the 2025 Lincoln Navigator can cost as much as $134,000.

Any good solid engineering in there ? No. Just a lot of gimmicky useless crap. A”panoramic” display! Meanwhile the entire Ford powertrain offering is crap! Why, DURABILITY AND LONGEVITY. All after the warranty has expired. Camshaft timing chain and component failure. The 10 speed transmission multiple issues. This thing is like a modern Edsel. So sad how Ford has sunk.
