Ford CEO Jim Farley Praises Bronco Enthusiast Sydney Sweeney

Back in 2023, Ford teamed up with Emmy award-nominated actress and Ford Bronco owner Sydney Sweeney to launch not only a new marketing campaign, but also a new workwear collection dubbed Ford x Sydney Sweeney, though it took a mere 31 hours to sell out, and was followed by a second launch. Sweeney grew up in a family of mechanics, and she wrenches on her own rides, which include a 1965 Ford Mustang and a 1969 Bronco. Thus, it’s not terribly surprising to learn that Ford CEO Jim Farley is a fan of hers, too.

“She’s a constant learner, so she just loves working on her cars because I think she always loves to learn new things and she really does have a connection with doing things, you know, working on her car with herself,” Farley said during an appearance on the Spike’s Car Radio podcast.

“And I think she comes from a very interesting family who you know, really believed in a kind of immersive learning and I’m so impressed with her. I mean, she’s such a diverse, deep person and so young! Not because I’m – I am old. But when I was 20 years old, I had no diversity in my life like she does and I was so impressed with her real R-E-S-P-E-C-T as a car person.”

After launching the Ford x Sydney Sweeney apparel line, those two have only expanded their relationship as of late. Sweeney participated in the Ford Bronco Off-Roadeo back in 2023, which she documented in detail via her social media channels while also showing off her Robin’s Egg Blue Bronco Heritage Limited. The actress – who originally learned how to drive in her grandfather’s Ford F-100 – later helped The Blue Oval design a special Mustang inspired by her first-generation model that was given away to one lucky fan last year, too.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.

  1. I’m an 82 year old Ford fan. My first car was a 57 Ford Fairlane hardtop with a Thunderbird Special engine. I love what Farley is doing bringing Ford back into the competitive arena. BUT, if he’s to survive he has to fix quality issues Forget Japanese and Korean cars. Think BMW, Mercedes and Porsche. He must get Ford and Lincoln into the top ten. Mediocre sales will see him gone soon. Perhaps a number of other folks need to be shown the door. I’m driving a flawless Bronco Sport Badlands now.
