Ford Explorer, Lincoln SUVs Recalled To Fix Incorrect Repair

Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2020-2022 Lincoln Corsair, 2020-2023 Lincoln Aviator, and 2020-2023 Ford Explorer models over a rearview camera issue. This recall was issued specifically to fix an incorrect repair that was performed on select Corsair, Aviator, and Explorer models under a previous recall.

The defect: in affected vehicles, the video output may fail, preventing the rearview camera image from displaying.

The hazards: loss of the rearview camera image can reduce the driver’s rear visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.

Ford is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this issue.

Components: Image Processing Module software

Affected vehicles: select 2020-2022 Corsair models produced between April 22nd, 2019, through December 14th, 2022, 2022-2023 Aviator models built from January 21st, 2019, through July 25th, 2023, and 2020-2023 Explorer models produced from January 20th, 2019 and July 25th, 2023.

Number of vehicles affected: 49,399

The fix: dealers will update the Image Processing Module software, free of charge.

Owners should: wait for communications from Ford, which will begin on April 24th, 2025. The Ford reference number for this recall is 25S27.
