Police chases are thrilling to watch because often, they culminate in an incredible crash. A suspect attempted to flee in a Ford Fusion – which may not be the best getaway car – and wound up getting arrested after their vehicle was disabled in an intersection crash.

The car chase itself looks like something out of a video game. The chase itself started in Culver City and ended up in South Los Angeles, where the crash happened. It’s not clear what led to the chase, but the suspect made a break for it in an allegedly stolen Ford Fusion.

The wreck was captured from two angles, one from an involved crash victim and another from a helicopter. The Ford Fusion driver is traveling at a high rate of speed through busy streets and takes a chance through an active intersection. They’re struck by a vehicle trying to cross the intersection at the same time, which disables the Ford Fusion and absolutely destroys the front end of the vehicle that collided with it.

The Fusion proceeds to spin out and lose control, barreling into several other vehicles stopped at the light. The suspect abandons their Ford Fusion and immediately surrenders to the cops, arrested on the spot.

The driver of a different vehicle at the scene of the accident said the situation was terrifying. He was afraid of getting caught in the crossfire between the suspect and the cops, but was extremely thankful that the situation didn’t actually escalate to that point. It’s not clear if there were any injuries to the involved drivers, but the suspect was not seriously injured in the crash.

This isn’t the first time a Ford vehicle has been involved in a police chase caught on camera, and it’s certainly not going to be the last. A Ford Super Duty was being pursued in a chase that only reached its zenith when the pickup destroyed a cop car. Police also gave chase to a couple 2025 Ford F-150 pickups that were stolen, while a teen tried to run in Mercury Milan but it didn’t go quite as planned.

  • Seems like more and more criminal chases/accidents take place in Fusions. I'd better watch out since I have one.
