No matter which generation one is talking about, the Ford GT is a desirable, rare, and heavily sought-after entity. Produced in scant quantities and slapped with a high price tag, the Ford GT has become quite the icon in the world of sports cars, with examples trading hands for huge money these days – in many cases, more than a million bucks, depending on the particular model. Thus, we imagine that this set of BBS wheels taken from a first-generation Ford GT will command a decent premium at auction, too.
These Ford GT BBS wheels are up for auction at Bring a Trailer as a rather unique offering, given the fact that most owners don’t exactly swap out the stock pieces with aftermarket ones and then sell them, which is the case with a lot of other vehicles. Now, someone will get the chance to own the set, however, which could come in handy for a Ford GT owner that needs to replace their damaged wheels, or maybe even someone that can use them on a vehicle with the same sort of bolt pattern.
These five-lug split-spoke BBS wheels measure 18×9 inches up front and 19×11.5 inches in the rear, and they feature single-piece forged alloy construction. The wheels are painted silver with a split-spoke design, a Ford GT-script center cap, and BBS-logo valve stem covers, and are currently wrapped with an older set of Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tires that the seller notes should probably be replaced, due to age.
In this case, it looks like the seller replaced the wheels on their own Ford GT with another set, which is why these are up for grabs now. If nothing else, it’ll be interesting to see what they ultimately hammer for, though that largely depends on how many folks have been waiting for such a thing to surface for sale.

My first thought when I read ‘from a first-generation Ford GT ‘ was that the tires would be too old to be safe.
