Ford Puma Gen-E, Electric Vans Enter Mass Production

Ford has faced its fair share of struggles in Europe as of late, largely stemming from weak passenger vehicle and EV sales, which recently prompted the automaker to shift more of its focus to the successful Ford Pro commercial business. However, The Blue Oval also continues to expand its all-electric lineup in Europe regardless, a key move as that region still plans to phase out the sale of new ICE models (save for some plug-in hybrids) in the coming years. Now, three more Blue Oval EVs have entered mass production as those efforts continue – the Ford Puma Gen-E, E-Tourneo Courier, and E‑Transit Courier.

Volume production of the the Ford Puma Gen-E, E-Tourneo Courier, and E-Transit Courier has officially begun at the joint-venture Ford Otosan Craiova Assembly plant in Romania, following the debut of the Gen-E back in December 2024, as well as the  E-Tourneo Courier in 2023. The Ford Puma Gen-E and E-Tourneo Courier join the automaker’s existing passenger EV lineup in Europe, which already includes the Explorer EV, Capri EV, and Ford Mustang Mach-E, while the E-Transit Courier joins the Ford Pro EV lineup that already includes the E-Transit, E-Transit Custom, and E-Tourneo Custom.

“Ford has been on an incredible journey, from introducing our first electric vehicle in Europe, the Mustang Mach-E, to now offering a broad range of electric cars and commercial vehicles in just a few years,” said Jon Williams, general manager, Ford Blue and Model e, Europe. “The Puma Gen-E, E-Tourneo Courier and E-Transit Courier further enhance our existing electric vehicle range so there is a choice of vehicles to suit both private and business customers, opening up the benefits of electric mobility to an even wider audience.”

“At Ford Otosan, we take pride in contributing to Ford’s success in Europe with new models that further strengthen its electric vehicle portfolio. Built at our state-of-the-art Craiova plant, these new electric models showcase our expertise in delivering innovative, high-quality vehicles that elevate the driving experience for Ford customers.” said Güven Özyurt, Ford Otosan General Manager.

    1. Best selling vehicle in the world is an EV. Even if you keep repeating your false statement, it won’t make it true.
