The all-new, all-electric Ford Puma Gen-E debuted for the European market back in December 2024, but it was only a mere few months later – March – when the crossover entered full-scale production at the joint-venture Ford Otosan Craiova Assembly plant in Romania, along with the E-Tourneo Courier and E‑Transit Courier. As a result, the Ford Puma Gen-E and its all-electric van counterparts are now on their way to dealerships in Germany, the automaker has announced.
“Ford has had an incredible journey in just a few years – from the presentation of the Mustang Mach-E as our first battery-electric model in Europe to a wide range of electric-powered passenger cars and commercial vehicles,” said Jon Williams, CEO of Ford Blue and Model e Europe. “Puma Gen-E, E-Tourneo Courier and E-Transit Courier are expanding our existing range of battery-electric vehicles. They thus offer our private and commercial customers a greater choice and thus enable even more people to access the advantages of electromobility.”
The Ford Puma Gen-E and E-Tourneo Courier join the automaker’s existing passenger EV lineup in Europe, which already includes the Explorer EV, Capri EV, and Ford Mustang Mach-E, while the E-Transit Courier joins the Ford Pro EV lineup that currently consists of the E-Transit, E-Transit Custom, and E-Tourneo Custom.
These additions to Ford Germany’s lineup are notable as the automaker continues to struggle in that part of the world amid weak passenger vehicle and EV sales, in general. In fact, Ford Germany recently found itself mired in a substantial amount of debt, which prompted The Blue Oval to infuse $5 billion in that particular unit. With Ford struggling across the entire region of Europe as well, the automaker is shifting more of its focus to the highly-profitable and successful Ford Pro commercial business, as Ford Authority reported last December, all while “right-sizing” its passenger vehicle business to meet declining demand.

Give us a longer range electric Puma at a reasonable price with quality package. Pay attention to interior plastics, after all, this is where the driver sits daily and it needs to look and feel good. Use fabrics if better quality plastics are too expensive, like the Skoda Elroq.
This would be a Bolt killer if they built it in the USA.
