The Ford Raptor line of racing pickups has enjoyed its fair share of motorsports success in recent month, all of which bodes well for CEO Jim Farley’s desire to become the “Porsche of off-road,” as he calls it. The most recent test was a tough one, however – the Mint 400, which a grueling event that takes place in Las Vegas, Nevada, spanning 400 miles of treacherous terrain. Roughly 65,000 off-road enthusiasts come to watch 500 race teams in 50+ classes from 25 different states and 15 different countries compete in the Mint 400 each year, and this time around, the Ford Raptor line of pickups brought home quite a bit of hardware.
The Ford Raptor racers scored multiple victories across the stock classes of the 2025 Mint 400, with Brad Lovell securing first place in the Stock Mid-Size class in his Ford Ranger Raptor, for starters. “We really had to fight for this first place today,” Lovell said. “We were battling all day long with Vaughn in the Bronco Raptor, and it was definitely the toughest competition I’ve had racing these stock trucks. Zero down time, hitting well over 100 miles an hour out in the desert – it was an absolute blast.”
As for Vaughn Gittin Jr. in his Ford Bronco Raptor, he was close behind Lovell, and wound up finishing second in the Stock Mid-Size class. Gittin Jr.’s long-time friend and business partner Loren Healy also brought home the win in the Stock Full-Size class behind the wheel of his Ford F-150 Raptor R. “We came out and did what we wanted to do,” Healy said. “We added nothing but fuel all day long, zero issues with the trucks. I’m so proud of this team – we’ve been racing at Baja, at Hammers, but this is absolutely 100 percent the roughest race in the U.S. It was a perfect day.”
In addition to these results, John Williams III continued his winning streak by defending his 2024 Mint 400 4600 Stock Class title, fresh off scoring a podium finish at King of the Hammers earlier this year. Bailey Campbell, in her first 4600 Stock Class competition, finished second behind the wheel of the RTR Vehicles Ford Bronco, too.
