The Lynx GT1 has been unveiled as a modern reimagining of the 2005-2006 Ford GT, blending The Blue Oval’s iconic design with cutting-edge modern hypercar technology.

The Lynx GT1, which is the product of a collaboration between Lynx Motors and Graham Rahal Performance, was inspired by motorsport and is being offered as completely a street-legal version of the Ford Concepts GT1 Le Mans race car that was fielded by Swiss Matech RT Racingg during the 2010 season. Very few will be made, as this model is built on the final 28 examples of the Ford GT chassis owned by Matech, which were acquired by Lynx.

Standout features include its rear-wheel-drive (RWD) drivetrain, which is powered by a choice of two engine options that are offered in limited quantity. The first is the Ford twin-turbocharged V8, which is completely street-legal despite offering an excess of 1,200 horsepower. The Roush RY45 twin-turbocharged V8 is also available for buyers who plan to track their Lynx GT1 with more than 1,500 horsepower on tap. Ten examples of the Ford powerhouse are available, and only two of the Roush engine.

There are also a variety of road and track aero options available to buyers, while a standard performance luxury interior cradles passengers during drives on the track or on the road. It’s fitted with LED lighting that conforms to street-legal regulations and features a crisp LED instrument cluster and infotainment touchscreen.

A standard roll cage, side intrusion protection, and traction control make the Ford GT based hypercar as safe as possible for any scenario, while paint protection helps keep its sleek looks in tip-top shape. Additionally, buyers can opt for a custom livery to make their Lynx GT1 stand out amongst the others – although it certainly doesn’t need a special paint job to be a head-turner on the street or at track days.

The Lynx GT1 is currently available for presale, priced at an estimated $1.7 million.
