While many undoubtedly think of actor Matthew McConaughey as the face of Lincoln, in general, he isn’t the only famous person that has appeared in advertisements for the luxury brand in recent years. In fact, tennis legend Serena Williams became the brand ambassador for the Lincoln Navigator when the fourth-generation model debuted in 2018, and in 2021, she also appeared in another ad for that particular brand. Now, just in time for the March Madness finale, Williams is the star of a brand new ad for the all-new 2025 Lincoln Navigator, too.
The new advertising campaign is dubbed Mic Drop, starring Williams, who is not only a Lincoln brand ambassador, but also, an owner. The first spot that we see here kicks off with the new 2025 Lincoln Navigator parked on the street, at which point we see a microphone fall from the sky – after which it quite literally begins raining mics. Williams then walks out and snags one of those mics from mid-air before proceeding to drop it herself – and hop in the luxurious SUV for a drive.
The ad closes out by proclaiming “the original, better than ever,” touting the fact that the 2025 Lincoln Navigator is just the latest version of what FoMoCo considers to be the “OG premium full-size SUV.” As for the correlation here, well The Blue Oval also considers Williams to be “an OG in her own right.” It certainly doesn’t hurt that she’s also one of the greatest to ever step foot on the court.
As for the all-new 2025 Lincoln Navigator, it debuted last August bearing a host of updates including revised exterior styling, the addition of a split tailgate, and – perhaps most notably – a total interior redo that includes a massive 48-inch panoramic display spanning the entire width of the dash, coupled with an 11.1-inch center touchscreen running the new Lincoln Digital Experience software.

Celebrities do sell cars, tennis legend Serena Williams, I’m sure she’s the right fit but I think someone needs to rethink the Microphone commercial. But, that’s only because it doesn’t make sense to anyone. They should have shown some clips of Ms. Williams playing Tennis and wearing Tennis apparel. Maybe even a spot where she is shown wearing Tennis Shoes in her formal wear, always ready for a game.
