Diecast models are typically associated with high-end vehicles that are otherwise unattainable to the average consumer, giving enthusiasts the chance to build their own miniature fleet. But diecasts don’t have to be all about supercars and muscle cars – sometimes, they can be based on everyday haulers. Take the 2024 Ford Explorer, for example, which has been offered in a variety of colors for some time, but now, explorer enthusiasts and owners can purchase the diecast in the deep Stone Blue hue.
Offered by Greenlight Collectibles, the 2024 Ford Explorer in Stone Blue is a 1:64-scale model of the real deal. For the real-life Explorer, Stone Blue was first made available for the 2022 model year, tagged with paint code C8. It was offered as a $495 extra-cost option. The Stone Blue diecast is now even more of a collector’s item, because the color is no longer available on the real-life Explorer; it was one of two colors that were discontinued for the 2025 model year.
The 2024 Ford Explorer diecast is also representative of the crossover’s pre-refresh design. Note that the diecast features the pre-refresh grille, which sports a sloped design that branches from the headlights and extends downward into the front fascia. For the 2025 model year, that grille has been altered. It now extends at a 90-degree angle from the front fascia, providing a wider opening through with the crossover breathes.
As far as the diecast goes, the 2024 Ford Explorer is part of the Showroom Floor series, which highlights daily drivers. Greenlight Collectibles offers a large line of diecasts, including quite a few from The Blue Oval’s stable. This includes a scale model of the 1969 Ford Mustang featured in John Wick. Collectors can also pick up a diecast of the USPS Oshkosk delivery van, which features the company’s extensive attention to detail when compared to the real-life model.
