1972 Ford F-100 With Coyote V8 Power Heading To Auction

For years now, vintage Ford trucks from most all generations have become increasingly popular and more collectible, not to mention significantly more valuable. This is certainly true of the fifth-generation F-Series built between 1967-1972, which are fantastic looking pickups that are also easy and popular to modify in a variety of ways. In fact, we’ve seen a literal boatload of modified Blue Oval haulers from that era surface as of late, and now, we can add this stunning 1972 Ford F-100 restomod to that list.

This 1972 Ford F-100 will be auctioned off at Barrett-Jackson’s upcoming 2025 Palm Beach, Florida sale later this month, but it’s far from some low-mile survivor or fully-restored original. Rather, it’s been heavily modified in every conceivable way, starting on the outside with the addition of a custom bed floor and inner panels, LED lighting, 18×9-inch front and 18×9-inch rear ESR wheels, Toyo tires, and Ford Glacier Gray tri-coat paint.

Inside the cabin, one will find a custom dash with a Pioneer Bluetooth touchscreen stereo and Vintage Air controls, Dakota Digital instrumentation, an Ididit steering column, and a billet steering wheel, plus double-gray-stitched black leather covering most surfaces. Power comes from the naturally-aspirated Ford 5.0L V8 Coyote engine, mated to the 6R80 six-speed automatic transmission. Underneath, one will find a Crown Victoria front suspension with Viking double-adjustable coilovers, joined by an independent S550 Mustang rear suspension, a post-traction rear end with 3.55 gears, and 14-inch Wilwood disc brakes.

It was just this past November when we saw a similar build – a 1971 Ford F-100 – surface for sale at auction, too. That vintage pickup was built by Fat Fender Garage in Gilbert, Arizona, which spent 18 months transforming it into a finely crafted restomod, after which the truck participated in the 2023 SEMA Battle of the Builders competition. It didn’t take home the hardware in that event, but it did manage to win the top prize for best Street Touring Pickup at the 2023 Grand National Roadster Show.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.
