It’s not exactly a secret that Ford Bronco values have exploded in recent years, expanding past the first generation into even newer models, such as the fifth-gen SUV that marked the temporary end of its production – at least, until the Bronco came back for a sixth generation in the 2021 model year. As they say, a rising tide lifts all boats, and now, we’re seeing that with the smaller, Ranger-based Ford Bronco II. In fact, Hagerty added the Ford Bronco II to its most recent Bull Market list, and now, a very nice example has attracted its fair share of attention, too.
In this recent video from EUROASIAN Bob, our host heads out to an estate auction to check out a 1989 Ford Bronco II Eddie Bauer model that has a mere 9k miles on the clock, making it a true gem of a find. When he arrives, Bob notes that the SUV is covered in dust and wearing its original tires, signaling that it’s been sitting in a garage for quite some time, largely unused. Otherwise, it looks like brand new, inside and out, and even has that “new vehicle smell” inside the cabin, as Bob notes.
There are a couple of things that need to be addressed, in including one scuff mark on the outside, as well as a mysterious clicking noise – but nothing that one wouldn’t expect from a vehicle that’s been sitting around, unused, for many years. It looks fantastic and starts right up, however, and perhaps unsurprisingly, Bob notes that there are a bunch of people scheduled to come out and look at it prior to the auction.
That’s precisely what happened, and as a result, Bob was ultimately outbid on this pristine Ford Bronco II, which isn’t terribly surprising – especially when we consider that his livelihood is to buy vehicles and sell them for a profit. Regardless, it is a pretty sure sign that the smaller, less-loved Bronco is quickly becoming quite popular and valuable, thanks to its larger counterpart’s success.
