1999 Ford Mustang GT 35th Anniversary Edition Heading To Auction

Among the many generations of pony car that have existed thus far, the SN95 generation Ford Mustang isn’t exactly the most valuable or collectible of the bunch, though it is a great looking car with plenty of appeal, regardless. However, we are starting to see more and more Mustangs from this era pop up for sale at collector car auctions, regardless. Now, this very nice 1999 Ford Mustang GT 35th Anniversary Edition is set to join that list very soon, too.

This 1999 Ford Mustang GT 35th Anniversary Edition has a reasonable 38k miles on the clock at the moment, and it is a true one-owner machine that’s clearly been well taken care of over the years – though now, it’s set to be auctioned off at Mecum’s Indianapolis, Indiana sale next month. That singular owner has kept their pony car stored in a garage since it was new, and that shows, as the Performance Red paint has no noted flaws. It’s a nice-looking model with the original 17-inch alloy machine-finished wheels, too.

Inside, one will find a tidy Dark Charcoal interior in a Mustang optioned with the Convenience Equipment Group, meaning that it has plenty of amenities. Those include a tilt steering column, the Mach 460 sound system, air conditioning, power windows and locks, and cruise control. Power comes from the naturally-aspirated 4.6L V8, which is mated to a five-speed manual transmission and the Trac-Lok differential.

This is just one of a few nice SN95 Ford Mustang models we’ve spotted at auction as of late, joining a super-low 4k-mile 2004 GT pony car that we came across last September. That model was only bid up to $16,500, however, and didn’t meet its reserve price – which means that perhaps collectors aren’t quite ready to gravitate toward the SN95 just yet. However, this anniversary GT will give us another look at the model’s evolving market very soon.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.
