The Ford Excursion was discontinued back in 2005, which was unfortunate for people who are looking for a full-size SUV that has enough room not only for larger families, but also, the ability to tow incredibly heavy loads as well. These days, no automaker sells anything like the Excursion, which was basically an SUV version of the Ford Super Duty, either. However, there are a handful of aftermarket companies churning out modern day Ford Super Duty Excursion conversions, but those coveting something even larger will soon be able to bid on this Ford Excursion limo conversion, too.
This 2003 Ford Excursion with what’s called an “executive limo conversion” is set to be auctioned off a Mecum’s Indianapolis, Indiana sale in May, and it features a number of interesting upgrades. On the outside, it looks pretty normal, however, and it hasn’t been stretched like many limos, largely because it doesn’t really need to be – there’s already tons of space inside. Thus, the black SUV remains pretty unassuming, save for its brush guard and aftermarket wheels.
Inside, that isn’t the case, as there’s a powered divider located between the front portion of the interior and the rear seats, creating privacy for those in the back. Those seats now face each other as well, and they’re flanked by a radio, separate HVAC controls, and other goodies that aren’t noted in the auction listing, save for some storage compartments. Tinted windows add a bit more privacy to the mix, too. Power for this large, luxurious ride comes from the Ford 6.8L V10 Triton engine, which has racked up 75k miles thus far.
This Ford Excursion limo isn’t the only interesting super-large Blue Oval model that’s been up for grabs at auction recently, however. It’s also joined by a 2015 Ford F-350 six-door conversion as well, which crossed the block at Barrett-Jackson’s Palm Beach, Florida auction this month.
