While the vast majority of auction finds we come across are actual running and driving vehicles, that isn’t necessarily always the case. Rather, there are also plenty of cool and unique Blue Oval-related pieces of memorabilia, simulators, toys, and even furniture out there for the taking, too. However, it isn’t often we see something like a full-size Ford display model pop up for sale, at least, save for some non-running concepts from time to time – making this 2010 Ford Mustang display car a pretty special discovery.

This 2010 Ford Mustang display car is slated to be sold at Mecum’s Indianapolis, Indiana auction next month, and it’s unlike anything we’ve come across in a long time. It actually started life as a functioning 2010 Ford Mustang, but has since been completely transformed into a rolling display car. Since 2020, it has been used by the World of Speed Museum in Oregon as a hands-on display car, one designed to show visitors a film on the history of the iconic pony car via a monitor and DVD player located inside the cabin.

The exterior of this Mustang display car has been updated with wide body fenders, a beefy hood, and chrome wheels, along with a satin blue vinyl wrap with white racing stripes. The doors have also been removed, providing easy access to the inside, where one will find a black interior with a rear seat delete, plus racing seats up front. This particular display car can be set up for simulator use, if the new owner opts to go that route, too.

Though we haven’t come across anything quite like this Ford Mustang display car at auction, we do see plenty of concepts and other interesting lots from time to time. That includes a very rare 1979 Ford Mustang Daytona Concept, as well as a 2000 Ford Prodigy Prototype display model.
