2022-2023 Ford Transit Recalled To Fix Incorrectly Repaired Vans

Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2022-2023 Ford Transit units over an issue with the vans’ rear camera displays. Affected vehicles received incorrect repairs under a prior recall, tagged with the Ford recall number 23S48.

The defect: in affected vehicles, the camera may not display a rearview image when the vehicle is placed in reverse.

The hazards: loss of the rearview camera image can reduce the driver’s rear visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.

Ford is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this issue.

Components: 360-degree camera or rearview camera, Image Processing Module – B (IPMB)

Affected vehicles: select 2022-2023 Ford Transit vans built between August 12th, 2021 and July 30th, 2023.

Number of vehicles affected: 4,625

The fix: dealers will update Image Processing Module – B (IPMB) and wiring as necessary, free of charge.

Owners should: wait for communications from Ford, which will begin on May 19th, 2025. The Ford reference number for this recall is 25S38.
