Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2024-2025 Ford F-150, Ford Expedition, and 2024 Lincoln Navigator models equipped with the twin turbocharged 3.5L V6 EcoBoost engine due to an issue with misaligned oil plugs.
The defect: in affected vehicles, the engine may have a misaligned engine cup plug, which can result in a rapid oil leak.
The hazards: a rapid oil leak can result in an engine stall, increasing the risk of a crash. In addition, an oil leak in the presence of an ignition source such as hot engine or exhaust components, can increase the risk of a fire.
Ford is not aware of any reports of accidents or injuries related to this condition.

Affected vehicles: select 2024-2025 F-150 pickups produced between September 12th, 2024, and January 30th, 2025, 2024-2025 Expedition SUVs built from September 23rd, 2024, to February 9th, 2025, and 2024 Navigator models produced between September 24th, 2024, and October 16th, 2025, – all of which are equipped with the 3.5L V6 EcoBoost engine.
Number of vehicles affected: 4,163
The fix: dealers will inspect the engine cup plug alignment, and replace the plug if necessary, free of charge.
Owners should: wait for communications from Ford, which will begin May 26th, 2025. The Ford reference number for this recall is 25S30.
