The 2025 Ford F-150 Lightning received some minor, but important, changes, including some software updates and an all-new package. That new package debuts a brand new set of wheels for the all-electric pickup, bringing the total to four unique wheels. Below, Ford Authority breaks each wheel down in detail, including pricing and availability for each one.
The 2025 Ford F-150 Lightning carries on with four trims: XLT, Flash, Lariat, and Platinum. The entry level XLT trim features a set of 18-inch Gloss Black alloy wheels as standard, meaning they do not cost extra. Meanwhile, the Flash and Lariat trims share the standard 20-inch Dark Carbonized Gray alloy wheels.
Finally, the F-150 Lightning Platinum offers two wheel options. The standard rollers are the 22-inch Bright Machined wheels with Ebony Black painted pockets, which do not add any extra cost to the electric pickup. Opting for the all-new Dark Elements Package, which is a $1,000 bundle offered exclusively on the F-150 Lightning Platinum, fits the pickup with the 22-inch black painted aluminum wheels.
Aside from the addition of the aforementioned Dark Elements Package, the 2025 Ford F-150 Lightning soldiers on largely unchanged from its 2024 model year counterpart. However, standout changes include the deletion of the factory SecuriCode keyless entry keypad is no longer available, although it’s still offered as a dealer-installed option. It also ditches its eLocking rear axle, which was formerly standard but is now part of the optional Max Trailer Tow Package. The Interior Work Surface feature is also gone for the XLT and Flash trims, though it’s still standard on the Lariat and Platinum.
Despite all those changes, the price of the F-150 Lightning holds steady for the 2025 model year. The entry level XLT trim maintains its starting price of $62,995, not including destination freight charges.
Production of the 2025 Ford F-150 Lightning, which is handle at the Rouge Electric Vehicle Center, is now proceeding as planned. Production was slated to kick off in November 2024, but The Blue Oval decided to idle it for seven weeks, starting at the end of the day on November 15th, 2024 and resuming on January 6th, 2025 in response to cooling demand for the electric pickup.
