2025 Jeep Wagoneer Overland Debuts As New Ford Expedition Tremor Rival

Off-road oriented SUVs have been a hot ticket item as of late, sparking the introduction of vehicles like the 2025 Ford Expedition Tremor, a tough full-size utility vehicle ready to tackle the trail. Now, Stellantis has answered the Expedition Tremor, debuting the 2025 Jeep Wagoneer Overland, the automaker’s large purpose-built off-roader.

Delivering off-road performance right off the showroom floor, the 2025 Jeep Wagoneer Overland features 32-inch all-terrain tires wrapped around 20-inch aluminum wheels, a Quadra-Lift air suspension system with semi-active damping and up to 10 inches of ground clearance, steel skid plates, and a Quadra-Drive II 4X4 system consisting of an electronic limited slip differential and two-speed transfer case. Two front tow hooks and one removable rear tow hook make sure the Wagoneer Overland won’t get stuck for long, while the Heavy Duty Trailer Tow Package enables a 10,000 pound towing capacity.

Outside, the Wagoneer Overland gets a black-painted roof, a first for the Wagoneer, along with numerous black exterior accents. Roof rail crossbars reside up top, while inside, the full-size off-road SUV gets Nappa leather seating, all-weather floor mats, and a panoramic sunroof. Three rows of seating can support up to eight passengers with the appropriate configuration, and for the first time, Jeep Off-Road Pages+ is standard through the built-in app, featuring a two-year trial complete with Adventure Maps.

The 2025 Jeep Wagoneer Overland starts at $73,835, including destination freight charges (DFC). It harnesses the twin-turbocharged Hurricane I6 engine, good for 420 horsepower. Unlike the Tremor, the Jeep Overland Special Edition is a limited production model capped at 2,000 units.

By comparison, the 2025 Ford Expedition Tremor is identifiable by its Tremor Orange accents, 33-inch all-terrain tires, specialized suspension and steering, a front skid-plate, off-road auxiliary lighting up front, and underbody protection. Power is sourced from the 3.5L V6 EcoBoost engine, which churns out 440 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque. Including DFC, the Expedition Tremor goes for $83,025 – and it’s already begun shipping out to dealers.

The Jeep Wagoneer will soon offer a plug-in model that has a leg up on the Ford Expedition, which doesn’t currently offer a hybrid or plug-in model, but that’s expected to change in the near future.
