Sure, buying a nice vehicle and keeping it pristine is great, but cars are meant to be driven – just like one 2013 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor. YouTuber John Ross of WatchJRGo documents the new vehicle purchased by his cohort, Eric, who picked up a well-loved, and extremely well-kept, from fellow online personality Tyler Hoovie of Hoovie’s Garage.
Despite having over 310,000 miles racked up, Ross says that this F-150 SVT Raptor was the “cheapest” Raptor sale in the U.S. – he spent just $12,000 on it. It’s a fully loaded model and has all the features Eric was looking for in a work truck – although Ross can’t help but compare it to the Ram TRX, which he says is “three times the truck” that the F-150 SVT Raptor is.
Under the hood, this Ford F-150 SVT Raptor harnesses the naturally aspirated 6.2L Boss V8 engine, which is factory rated at 411 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque. While that’s a fair amount, especially for the time, it’s a little lacking by today’s standards. Performance aside, though, Ross says he’s enamored with the pickup’s styling, which just “looks like a truck should look.”
This 2013 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor has quite a few unique features, like the handy SecuriCode keypad and the “groundbreaking” front camera. The front grille lights make it look “menacing,” and it has an “absolutely epic bumper” topped with a Baja lightbar. It’s had quite a bit of work done to it – like fixing minor suspension and exhaust issues – but it still rides great.
Inside, it features Sync 2 (MyFordTouch) on its infotainment system, which is a bit outdated but still perfectly functional. Heated and cooled seats keep its passengers comfortable, and its two rows are nice and roomy.
“The 6.2 V8, obviously, we all know that’s rock solid,” Ross says. “Ford just keeps killin’ it… they’re out here building the best trucks.”
While Ross is pleased with the Ford F-150 SVT Raptor, he didn’t have nearly as good of things to say about another Blue Oval product. His girlfriend’s 2015 Ford Focus presented with some serious issues that still aren’t squared away.

300+K miles means it was a lousy buy.
A cheap try at publicity for youtubers.
