Brazilian Ford Mustang GT Special Edition Teased For First Time

The redesigned S650-generation 2024 Ford Mustang arrived in Brazil last March, albeit, only in one guise – the GT Performance model. There, the Ford Mustang GT Performance comes equipped with an array of standard equipment, including the 5.0L V8 Coyote engine, the 10-speed automatic transmission, the MagneRide suspension, stabilizer bars taken from the last-gen Mach 1, Brembo brakes with six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers, and unique wheels wrapped with P-Zero tires. Now, Brazilian customers will soon get another pony car option, however.

The Blue Oval first announced that Brazil would be getting a Ford Mustang GT equipped with the six-speed manual transmission this past December, but at that time, it didn’t give us much more information about that particular model, other than the fact that it would be limited and collectible. Now, it’s giving us more details and a few images of the Ford Mustang GT Special Edition, which is limited to just 200 total units and comes with a special numbered plaque to tout that fact.

The Ford Mustang GT Special Edition heading to Brazil has been teased somewhat in these new photos, showing off the top of the car, as well as its manual shift knob – with the aforementioned numbered plaque positioned at the base of the shifter. Otherwise, Ford hasn’t released any additional details about the Brazilian manual Mustang, though it very well could share some parts with the existing GT Performance model, if nothing else, which starts out at R$529,000 ($106,235 USD) and is available in eight exterior colors.

“Over time, the automatic transmission has become a trend in all vehicle segments for privileging comfort at the wheel. But when it comes to sporty driving, nothing compares to the manual transmission, where control of the engine rotation and the moment of the change is totally in the driver’s hands,” said Dennis Rossini, Ford Brazil Marketing Manager.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.
