Ford Bronco Off-Roadeo Experience Developed By Company Interns

The Ford Bronco Off-Roadeo debuted alongside the launch of the all-new 2021 Ford Bronco and Ford Bronco Sport, giving owners the chance to test out those models in specially curated areas designed to show off their capabilities – and technologies. Since then, the Ford Bronco Off-Roadeo has continued to expand to additional locations, and also offers a variety of unique experiences, too. However, what we didn’t know – until now, at least- is where the idea for this off-road-focused experience came from.

Turns out, it was a pair of Blue Oval interns – Stephanie Simon and Travis Bouchard – that came up with the idea for the Ford Bronco Off-Roadeo. Back in 2018, both were tasked with finding new ways to help the automaker promote the Bronco brand, which was a bit challenging given the fact that no production model existed at that time. Both were told to focus on the types of customers that would be interested in purchasing such a vehicle, however, and that’s where the research began. As it turns out, Simon and Bouchard soon discovered that many people wanted to experience off-roading, but didn’t know how to get started.

Thus, the pair figured out that if Ford could host an experience suited for off-roaders of all skill levels and make it complimentary with the purchase of one of those vehicles, folks would quite literally gravitate toward it – and develop the desire to continue to take those Broncos off the beaten path afterward. Simon and Bouchard then presented their idea to Blue Oval brass, and it clicked in a big way – after which the Ford Bronco Off-Roadeo became a reality. Today, both have moved on to other product lines within Ford, but they’ll forever be tied together by their grand – and successful – idea.

Thus far, the Ford Bronco Off-Roadeo has hosted 65,000 people, and continues to add new locations amid tremendous popularity. On top of the regular Off-Roadeo experience, Ford has also added special events such as Ladies’ Day and even a more overlanding-focused outing.
