It was just a few years ago when auto shows were typically the venues at which automakers opted to debut brand new models, creating a bit of excitement for journalists and the public alike. However, with auto show attendance on the decline for some time now, many brands have actually opted to sit out those events altogether – and we certainly don’t see as many new vehicle reveals there as we used to, either. That will seemingly continue to be the case at the upcoming 2025 New York International Auto Show, where it doesn’t look like the new Ford Explorer Tremor will debut.
Currently, neither Ford nor Lincoln has a press conference scheduled for the 2025 New York Auto Show, meaning that those brands won’t be debuting any new products such as the yet-to-be revealed Ford Explorer Tremor. There is a possibility that the rugged new SUV may debut prior to the show and then be present as part of Ford’s official display, but it won’t be making its official reveal there, regardless.
This is nothing new, of course, as Lincoln opted to sit out the 2023 and 2024 New York International Auto Show altogether, though it will have a display this year. The Blue Oval chose not to debut the all-new 2025 Ford Expedition in NYC last year either, in what has become an increasingly common trend among all automakers, in general.
Meanwhile, the automaker did tease the Ford Explorer Tremor for the first time a couple of weeks ago, and Ford Authority spotted a trio of prototypes out testing without any camo just this past week. Set to replace the outgoing Timberline, the new Explorer Tremor is expected to share much of that model’s unique features, with orange exterior accents, a skid plate, the exact same wheels, and Bridgetone Dueller A/T REVO3 265/65R18 tires, along with Tremor badging.

Reveals at auto shows are MUCH more revealing than online intros. Folks in attendance get lots of actual shots that aren’t staged.
Delaying a TRIM LEVEL for tariffs (which this could be) is yet more Ford absurdity.
I knew you could scrape the barrel and come up with something to WHINE about – well done!! An EcoBoost turbo WHINEs less <– LOL!
Ken Block’s 1986 Ford RS200 is a beautiful piece of automotive design. Clean, proportioned …stunning. Automotive design is increasingly freakish.
