Ford F-150 Driver Arrested After Punching NYS DOT Worker: Video

Road work can certainly be frustrating, but that’s never an excuse to take anger out on a worker who’s just doing their job. Unfortunately, the driver of a Ford F-150 let his frustration get the better of him – getting himself arrested after assaulting a Department of Transportation (DOT) worker in New York.

Video still of William Stanley stopping his Ford F-150 to confront DOT workers in a construction zone. He was later arrested and charged.

The Ford F-150 driver, identified as William Stanley, was involved in an altercation with a worker on March 26th, 2025, according to a report from local news outfit WNYT. It’s not clear what led to the fight on the intersection of Crescent Vischer Ferry Road in Halfmoon, New York.

Cell phone video shot by a bystander shows Stanley stopping his white Ford F-150 near a few DOT workers clad in hi-vis vests. Stanley exited his pickup and approached a flagger, William Barbour, then proceeded to punch Barbour in the helmet while yelling at him. He was subsequently charged with reckless endangerment, reckless driving, harassment, operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license, and failure to obey a flag person. He was released and is due in Halfmoon Town Court at a later time.

“[Stanley] physically pulled in front of cars that were going in the one direction, come running right towards me, and I have the sign out saying, you know, ‘Stop, I have traffic coming,'” Barbour said in an interview. “Why, you know, you couldn’t wait that few minutes?”

Barbour is also in favor of lowering speed limits in work zones to protect workers and increase penalties for assaulting workers.

Road rage is unfortunately common on roadways today. Take a Chevy truck owner, who attempted to steal and run away with the Ford tow truck his precious pickup was attached to in Brooklyn, New York. Other incidents caught on camera include the driver of a Ford Taurus trying to hit a pedestrian on a New York City sidewalk, as well as a Ford Focus and Super Duty duking it out on the highway.

  4. Good thing this case wasn’t reported to the same type of LEO(s) as the Maverick School Zone scofflaw as detailed below, I.E., “We didn’t see it happen with our own physical eyes, so your video is worthless to us.”

  6. I think FA should do these stories from time to time. Just to show how important it is to just be patient and respect those keeping our roads in good repair.
