Ford Focus Hatchback Driver Just Goes For It: Video

Even if there’s a stop sign, it’s probably safe to assume that the other driver won’t stop, especially in places where distraction (and lack of awareness) are likely. The driver of one 2015 through 2018 Ford Focus decided to just send it before checking both ways, and they’re lucky that it didn’t go worse than it did for them.

Video still of the Ford Focus that blew through an intersection, almost hitting the cammer in the process.

The original video was captured via dashcam and appropriately shared on the Reddit community r/IdiotsInCars. The post’s title subtly implies a stereotype without stating it outright, mentioning a church parking lot and nudging readers to mentally fill in the blanks about the Ford Focus driver’s age group. The cammer approaches a busy intersection, where an SUV is headed in, but unfortunately, that SUV conceals the Focus just before the driver makes a questionable decision to just go for it.

It’s pretty clear from the video that the Focus driver never even knew the cammer was there to begin with. They’re looking straight ahead, minding their own business like they’re just out for a Sunday drive (which may at least be partially true). They couldn’t have taken the intersection any slower if they tried, causing the cammer to close on them and almost T-bone them right in the driver’s side. Oblivious still, the Ford Focus driver doesn’t even bat an eye as the cammer stands on the brake pedal, narrowly avoiding contact with the offending hatchback.

“That dude STILL has no idea you were there,” reads the top comment on the post. It’s pretty clear that’s not far from the truth. Ignorance is bliss, but still, drivers like this should probably have to prove their competence to get their licenses renewed. They’re just putting the rest of the highway in danger.

The driver of a Ford Super Duty did something similar, taking a simple stroll across two lanes of oncoming traffic with little regard to what was heading toward them. But, hey, at least the behavior of both the Super Duty and Focus drivers can be chalked up to ignorance. Then there’s this Ford F-150, which purposefully cut across a double yellow just to save a couple seconds at a traffic light.
