Unfortunately, to no fault of its own, the Ford Mustang has picked up a bit of a bad reputation when it comes to car meets. Drivers who have a little too much horsepower under them tend to gun it out of car shows, which often sends them straight into crowds, curbs, and sometimes, other vehicles. This has prompted some organizations to ban the Mustang from its shows outright. One Mustang owner didn’t get the memo, apparently, and peeled out from a Cars and Coffee event, and it went just about as one might expect.
The incident was posted by a member of the r/Mustang community on Reddit. There’s really no reason the crash should have happened. The Ford Mustang GT is seen on a perfectly straight road, just after exiting a Cars and Coffee event. The Mustang appears to be a modified S550 model, painted black, and its driver steps on the accelerator just to show off a little bit. With smoke pouring from the rear tires, it all suddenly goes sideways, quite literally.
The driver loses control at the worst possible moment. They’re headed right toward a curb. Bystanders scatter, and thankfully, none of them are struck, but the same can’t be said for the Mustang’s wheels, which slap the curb with a sickening crunch. To make matters worse, a Chevy C6 Corvette is right in the wayward Mustang’s path, parked in a parking lot. The Mustang makes contact, and while the damage to the Corvette isn’t shown in the video, judging by the way it reels from the impact, it’s probably significant.
“Nobody wants to show up in one of these clips, but it’s sobering reminder to respect your car,” stated one commenter, and they’re right. The Ford Mustang can be a powerful machine that can catch drivers off-guard if they’re not careful. Thankfully, though, Team O’Neil took the time to film a tutorial on keeping the Mustang pointed in the right direction if one wants to show off.

Did he get employee pricing?
At this rate, I think this is being done on purpose, and not accidentally. If I had a dollar for every time I read a Mustang crashed after leaving Cars and Coffee, I could EASILY retire!
Could be but every Mustang since the 1979 edition has had handling issues. You’d think Jim would have fixed that as Priority #1, ahem.
sadly it’s the same old same old
If you can’t control it…don’t try to show off. That was completely avoidable. If appears the driver jammed on brakes when he started sideways which is the wrong thing to do!
Must be to young to handle a real car, they can scare even the best driver’s when they go into a spin. He should practice that fast turning stuff until he learns it then he can act like a controlled driver just enjoying what we Mustang owners have learned to love about ownership and to respect the Mustang Power. I owned a Corvette back in ’87, nice car, but just not the same as my Mustang GT.
He was doing the best he could, give him a break!
If he hit my car, I give him a break. Probably his nose.
Age old problem – too much car, NOT enough driver.
