The Ford Power Promise program debuted in the U.S. last September, offering retail customers that purchase or lease a Ford Mustang Mach-E, Ford F-150 Lightning, or E-Transit a free home charger when they take delivery of those vehicles, plus free standard installation. It proved to be so popular that the Ford Power Promise program was then extended not just once, but twice, and is currently slated to run through July 7th, 2025. Now, Blue Oval EV customers in the UK can take advantage of this popular program, too.
In the UK, the Ford Power Promise program is available for customers that purchase a new Explorer EV, Capri EV, Puma Gen-E, Mustang Mach-E, E-Tourneo Custom, or E-Tourneo Courier. Those customers can receive a free home charger and standard installation, or £500 ($639 USD) cash, as well as a Home Energy Bonus good for up to 10,000 miles. Thanks to Ford’s partnership with Octopus Energy, Power Promise customers also get that outfit’s cheaper off-peak (overnight) charging rate of 7p/kWh, which is up to 70 percent less expensive than standard charging rates.
For commercial customers in the UK that purchase an E-Transit Custom or E-Transit, Ford Pro is also offering a £10 ($13 USD) home charger that includes that unit, standard installation, a five-year hardware warranty, and one-year of free access to the division’s home charging software.
If nothing else, the arrival of Ford Power Promise in the UK should help entice EV shoppers to consider Blue Oval models as that country aims to phase out the sale of new ICE and diesel models in the coming years, even as the automaker plans to continue to offer an array of powertrain choices across Europe. Ford UK has long called for robust government EV incentives to help drive sales, and received a little relief this week when it announced that it would be making revisions to the existing zero-emissions vehicle mandate.
