Last September, Ford debuted what it calls the Power Promise program, offering retail customers that purchase or lease a Ford Mustang Mach-E, Ford F-150 Lightning, or E-Transit a free home charger when they take delivery of those vehicles, plus free standard installation. The concept of the program is to make it easier for Ford EV buyers to set up home charging without having to figure out which charger is best for their application or working to find a reputable installer, and they’re obviously saving money as well. The Ford Power Promise program was originally set to expire on January 2nd, 2025, but now, it has been extended for the second time.
The Ford Power Promise program was previously extended through March 31st, 2025 after the automaker posted a record year for EV sales in 2024, but now, FoMoCo has opted to continue offering this rather enticing benefit for its EV customers through July 7th, 2025, according to a dealer bulletin seen by CarsDirect. There is one change that’s worth noting, however, at least, as it pertains to the Public Charging Credit.
Ford EV customers that opt for the Public Charging Credit instead of a free at-home charging station as part of this deal will now get a $500 rebate, which is half of the previous amount, $1,000, though that particular rebate will be offered through January 6th, 2026. This isn’t the first time that credit has been cut, either – prior to the most recent update, customers could score a $2,000 Public Charging Credit for forgoing at-home installation.
Regardless, those that take advantage of the Ford Power Promise program also get 24/7 support via a team of dedicated Ford advisors in the event that they need assistance with things such as charging, and the automaker is providing free roadside assistance, too. According to The Blue Oval, 85 percent of its EV owners charge their vehicles at home, making the program a big pull and potential money saver for most.

Those idiots over at gm should do this, it’s one of Ford’s better ideas.
