Fox Body Ford Mustang Driver Fools Around, Finds Out: Video

Some drivers just don’t have the patience to follow a big rig, especially on twisting two-lane roads where the idea of going fast is almost too tempting to ignore. The driver of one Fox Body Ford Mustang took matters into their own hands, swinging into the opposite lane to complete the pass – but unfortunately for them, a cop took notice of their actions.

Video still of the Ford Mustang pulling itself over after speeding in front of a cop.

The dashcam video, captured by the semi truck driver, was posted to r/IdiotsInCars on Reddit. The black Fox Body Ford Mustang is first seen in the semi’s rearview, coming up fast. At least they wait for a passing zone before they do so, but they’re a bit heavy footed on the gas pedal, zooming past the big rig and keeping their foot on the accelerator as they continue down the road.

The semi driver carries on – jamming out to “Killing Me Softly” – and lo and behold, a cop in a Ford Explorer is sitting off to the side of the road. There’s no way they didn’t see the Fox Body Ford Mustang hauling ass right in front of them, too.

At least the Mustang’s driver was smart enough to know they messed up. They pull off to the side of the road, waiting for the cop to come ticket them. That was probably wise – if they’d run, any potential punishment could have been much, much worse. Some sleuths in the comments determined that this occurred in Colebrook, Connecticut, close to the Massachusetts border. It’s not clear if the Mustang driver got ticketed – but hey, at least they waited and didn’t try to make a break for it.

The driver of a Ford F-150 wasn’t so lucky. They made a pass on the shoulder and were immediately nailed – and ticketed – by a cop. The driver of a Ford SVT Lightning (not to be confused with the Ford F-150 Lightning EV) pulled off a burnout right in front of a cop – but interestingly, the police didn’t seem to care one bit.
