Joey Logano, driver of the No. 22 NASCAR Ford Mustang Dark Horse had a stellar 2024 Cup Series season. Not only did he win four point-paying races plus the All-Star Race, he walked away as the 2024 Cup Series Champion. Logano and several other drivers from the Team Penske stable were invited to the White House on Wednesday, April 9th, 2025 to celebrate the organization’s accomplishments among all manner of motorsport with President Trump himself.
This is the second time that Logano has visited the White House – he had the opportunity to shake hands with Trump in 2019, hot off his 2018 Cup Series championship. President Trump shook hands with Logano, whose NASCAR Ford race car was on display in front of the White House, along with Ryan Blaney, the 2023 Cup Series champion, another Team Penske racer himself.
Trump and Team Penske team owner, Roger Penske, are “great friends,” according to the president. Logano and Blaney represented the NASCAR side of Penske operations at the meet-and-greet, but they weren’t the only racers there. Defending Indy 500 champion Josef Newgarden was also in attendance, as were IMSA drivers Nick Tandy, Felipe Nasr, and Laurens Vanthoor. In fact, Trump indicated that he would be interested in checking out the Indy 500 this year, to which Penske says he extends an open invitation.
“Parked my Championship car outside the @whitehouse today. It was an honor to see President Trump again and celebrate our multiple @team_penske accomplishments together,” Logano said on social media.

Trump also attended the Cup Series season-opening Daytona 500, leading the field in his armored Cadillac presidential limo. This was the first time a sitting president has done so, as reported by our sister publication, GM Authority.
The championship celebrations have been ongoing since Logano crossed the line at Phoenix last year. He also received a golden replica of his NASCAR Ford Mustang Dark Horse, which was presented to him at the end-of-season banquet.
