Original Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Officially Heading To Fortnite

The Blue Oval is a familiar sight in the digital realm. Fans of the video game Rocket League might recognize several iconic Ford models available for play, like the Ford Bronco Raptor, an amped-up version of the Ford F-150 – which inspired a real-life version – and the Ford Mustang Mach-E along with the Mustang Shelby GT500R. Now, gamers can take control of another Blue Oval product in the insanely popular video game Fortnite, which is getting the original Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 as an in-game item.

The Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 marks The Blue Oval’s debut in Fortnite, bringing the vintage muscle car to players on all platforms. The digital vehicle is seemingly based on the 1967 model year, and it will make the perfect addition to Fortnite, thanks to its aggressive stance and motorsport-ready handling.

The real-life Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 harnesses a powerful naturally aspirated V8 engine, so expect the virtual version to scream just like its real-life counterpart across the small screen. Players can pick the pony car as their ride across the map, but it’s not limited to just Fortnite. Once it’s purchased in Fortnite, it will automatically be added to a player’s Rocket League account. The inverse is true, too. Purchasing the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 in Rocket League will also unlock it in Fortnite.

Vehicle have been a staple of Fortnite gaming for a few years now. Though this Mustang is The Blue Oval’s first foray into that particular game, it’s possible that other models from its lineup could also make it to the battle royale style arena. Other real-life vehicles available in Fornite include the likes of the Tesla Cybertruck, the Ram 1500 RHO, Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack, Nissan Skyline GT-R, and more. Purchasing vehicles requires players to acquire V-bucks, Fortnite’s in-game currency.
