Vaughn Gittin Jr. has a thing for The Blue Oval – and, more specifically, the Ford Bronco. He had his company, RTR Vehicles, slapped a Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 engine into a Bronco to make the ultimate off-road racer, while he’s also spent plenty of time wheeling his Ford Bronco RTR “Fun Runner” on and off-road. RTR vehicles recently revealed its newest creation: a Bronco harnessing the 7.3L V8 Godzilla engine, the next chapter in the Fun Runner’s story.
The original Fun Runner was revealed in 2022. Since then, RTR Vehicles has taken that Ford Bronco build and made it even more powerful, featuring new styling, updated components inside and out, and of course, the V8 Godzilla powerhouse. Upgrades include up to 18 inches of wheel travel thanks to its custom long-travel suspension, while RTR Off-Road Team-spec Fox performance Elite shocks reside in all four corners to handle whatever the terrain can throw at it.
A set of 42-inch Nitto Trail Grapplers give it the bite it needs to navigate tough environments, necessitating a custom hydraulic steering system to keep it all pointed in the right direction. RTR Vehicles designed the custom Fun-haver widebody fiberglass fenders to accommodate the massive tires, too.
RTR claims that the build is the first Godzilla-swapped sixth-gen Ford Bronco, producing a healthy 430 horsepower and 475 pound-feet of torque, which is a massive upgrade over the Bronco’s factory twin-turbocharged 2.3L EcoBoost V6 engine. Power is routed to all four wheels by way of its 10-speed automatic transmission.
“We’re building this for those that dream like Loren and I do,” Gittin. “We’ve spent the last few years pushing the Bronco to its limits on and off the racing circuit and now we’re excited to offer something that lets others push those same limits.”
RTR says that the Ford Bronco Fun Runner is currently a one-off build, but the company is now offering the opportunity to build one for interested customers.
Fans of RTR who may not have the desire (or the budget) for a Ford Bronco build can look forward to the forthcoming Ford Mustang RTR, which is positioned as the model’s future EcoBoost performance variant.

Need to put the Godzilla engine in F 150..not for power…but reliablity…and do away with some of the overhead cam engines
I would be tickled with the 5.0 and the manual, if they do that I will buy a Bronco, if the only keep the straight 4 or the V-6 I will continue to drive my 68 pony and love it. The 7.3 must be a monster!
