Stellantis Follows Ford With Employee Pricing For Everyone Plan

In response to the implementation of 25 percent tariffs on imported automobiles that took effect just yesterday, Ford launched its “employee pricing for everyone plan,” which provides all U.S.-based customers with the same sort of discount that Blue Oval workers get. There are some exclusions, as one might imagine, but the main point behind this program is to tout the fact that Ford builds more vehicles and employs more hourly workers in the U.S. than any of its peers – which it reinforced with a new ad campaign, too. Now, Ford rival Stellantis has launched a similar program of its own.

“This week we launched aggressive and consistent incentive and marketing support for April, including an exciting and competitive enhancement that will allow our customers ‘America’s Freedom of Choice’ between employee price or current cash incentives,” a Stellantis spokesperson said, according to Automotive News. These discounts will be offered through the end of April, and apply to most 2024-2025 Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram models, save for the Ram 1500 RHO and Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392.

“We’re excited. It’s definitely going to energize the sales force,” Steven Wolf, dealer principal at Helfman Dodge-Chrysler-Jeep-Ram-Fiat in Houston, said of the new incentive. “It’s going to energize the managers, it’s going to energize the factory folks, and we’re going to sell a bunch of cars. You know what we’re going to do after we sell a bunch of cars? We’re going to order a bunch of cars.”

Wolf noted that buyers stand to save “many thousands” of dollars on new vehicles as a result of this deal, and he added that the program will provide them with a “significantly better” option compared to existing cash incentivess, saying “that’s just an unbelievable price for the consumer.” As for Stellantis and Ford rival/Detroit counterpart General Motors goes, a spokesperson for that company stated that it doesn’t plan on changing its incentives for April, so it doesn’t seem likely to follow suit.
