Ford Australia is marking a major milestone this year. First established in 1925, the Blue Oval’s Oceanic branch is celebrating 100 years in operation – and to commemorate the occasion, the automaker partnered with Authentic Collectables to create a custom, limited-edition Supercars Ford Mustang Gen3 race car model.
The 1:18 diecast model features a livery created by Tristan Groves. The paint scheme features a duotone blue theme that matches the exact hue of The Blue Oval logo itself. The hood features a white “100” motif overlaid with blue Ford script, which is echoed by the same logo on the lower portion of the front fascia. The Ford logo is splashed in white across the doors, while “Ford Performance” is prominently displayed on the rear spoiler. “100 Years In Australia” is emblazoned across the top of the windshield, accompanied by the No. 100 on the windshield and the side windows.
Each example of the diecast Ford Mustang Gen3 will feature a numbered Certificate of Authenticity, along with an Authentic Collectables branded protective cardboard folder. Each model features functional opening parts, including the hood, along with the driver and passenger doors.
“100 years ago (on March 31st, 1925), Ford Australia began building an unbreakable connection with Australia – from humble beginnings, to the legendary Falcon and Territory, to the powerhouse it is today, designing and engineering the Ranger – Australia’s No. 1 selling vehicle – and the Everest, for the world,” said Authentic in a press release. “As a proud Ford licensee, we are pleased to offer fans the chance to take part in this special year, with this unique collectors edition model.”
The Supercars Ford Mustang is currently available for preregistration, priced at $168 USD ($274.50 AUD) on Authentic’s website. Buyers will receive a notification once the model has been built with the opportunity to purchase it.
As for the real-life Supercars Mustang, The Blue Oval burst out of the gate by sweeping the podium in the opening race, while Cam Waters went on to capture all three races that weekend.
