Two 2025 Ford Bronco SUVs Recalled Over Control Arm Separation Safety Issue

Ford Motor Company is recalling select units of the 2025 Ford Bronco due to an issue that could result in the separation of the front upper control arm.

The defect: in affected vehicles, there may be missing or improperly torqued nut on the ball joint that secures that front upper control arm to the knuckle assembly.

The hazards: if the affected vehicles have a missing or improperly torqued nut on the ball joint that secures that upper control arm to the knuckle assembly, the front upper control arm can separate from the knuckle assembly, which may result in partial loss of steering without warning, increasing the risk of a crash.

Ford is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this issue.

Components: ball joint nut, right hand upper control arm, left hand upper control arm, right hand knuckle, left hand knuckle.

Affected vehicles: select Ford Bronco units produced between January 22nd, 2025 and March 2nd, 2025.

Number of affected vehicles: 2

The fix: dealers will inspect the torque on the upper control arm ball joint fasteners and replace the entire ball joint and knuckle assembly if the parts are loose or missing.

Owners should: stop driving their SUVs and wait for communications from Ford, which will begin on April 21st, 2025. The Ford reference number for this recall is 25S40.
