While many have moved on to the world of off-road-focused performance trucks, the Ford F-150 SVT Lightning remains a popular entity not only among folks that appreciate a good old fashioned street performance truck, but also, collectors. In that vein, we’ve seen quite a few nice Ford F-150 SVT Lightning pickups hit the auction block over the years, typically garnering solid money – even in the case of examples that have higher miles or modifications. Now, we have yet another stellar example to bid on – this well-sorted 2000 Ford F-150 SVT Lightning.
This second-generation Ford F-150 SVT Lightning is currently up for grabs over at Bring a Trailer with 61k miles on the clock, and it’s one of 4,966 built in this particular model year. It’s finished in Oxford White and remained in the possession of the original owner and their family until earlier this year, and it’s in excellent condition with no flaws noted on the exterior. The performance pickup remains in stock condition as well, with the original bodywork and unique 18-inch wheels, to boot.
Inside the cabin, one will find Medium Graphite cloth and Ebony leather upholstery with SVT embroidery in the headrests, plus a power-adjustable driver’s seat, air conditioning, a cassette stereo, and cruise control. Power comes from the supercharged Ford 5.4L V8 Triton engine, which was originally rated to produce 360 horsepower and 440 pound-feet of torque – flowing to the rear wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential with 3.55 gears.
In recent months, we’ve seen a handful of nice second-generation Ford F-150 SVT Lightning pickups cross the auction block, too. That list includes a 1999 model with 5k miles, a 2001 with 2k miles, 1999 model with an even-lower 2k miles, and a red 2000 model with 40k miles on the clock – meaning that anyone in the market for this modern era street performance pickup still has quite a few to choose from.
