Discontinued some time ago – but certainly not forgotten – we’ve seen quite a few nice, used examples of the Lincoln Continental pop up at various collector car auctions as of late, which is certainly good news for fans of the large and luxurious sedan. Now, we have yet another super nice example to add to this list – a 2002 Lincoln Continental with a very reasonable 65k miles on the clock, which remains in extremely nice condition now, more than two decades after it was originally sold new.
This 2002 Lincoln Continental is set to cross the block at Mecum’s Tulsa, Oklahoma auction next month, and it’s a rather nice example coming from a private collection. Finished in white on the outside, there aren’t any flaws present that we can see on the body panels – nor the alloy wheels that it rolls on. Rather, this large, luxurious sedan looks to be in nearly like-new condition, making it a desirable target for anyone in the market for such a thing.
The same is true of the interior, which does show some typical creasing on the leather seats up front, but that’s to be expected. Otherwise, the cabin is quite nice and features amenities such as power windows, locks, and seats, along with cruise control and a tilt steering column, plus a sunroof. Power comes from the naturally-aspirated Ford 4.6L V8, which in this guise was originally rated to produce 275 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque and is mated to a four-speed automatic transmission.
We’ve certainly seen our fair share of Lincoln Continental models from this generation surface for sale with few miles on the clock recently, and that list only continues to grow. That bunch includes a 2001 Continental that had just 36k miles on the odometer when it was sold, a 2002 model with an even-lower mileage total of 16k that popped up for sale some time ago, and another 2000 model with 40k miles this past February.
