2003 Ford Focus SVT With 52K Miles Up For Auction

There was a time, not too long ago, when Americans could go out and purchase any number of hot hatches brand new on showroom floors, but sadly, those days are largely in the rear view at this point. With consumers in the U.S. gravitating toward crossovers, SUVs, and pickups, hot hatches have mostly gone the way of the dinosaur, and there aren’t nearly as many of them in places like Europe as there used to be, either. However, one can still score nice, low-mile hot hatch models on the used market these days, such as this 2003 Ford Focus SVT.

This 2003 Ford Focus SVT has just 52k miles on the clock and is currently up for auction over at Cars & Bids, where it should prove pretty enticing for hot hatch fans, in general. It’s finished in an attractive shade dubbed Sonic Blue, along with 17-inch SVT wheels, blue-painted brake calipers, HID headlights, a power sunroof, and an SVT-specific body kit. The seller does note a few scratches and paint chips on the outside, along with some curb rash, and the paint protection film is looking a bit weathered, however.

Inside the cabin, one will find a mixture of cloth and leather finished in black and blue, along with the Cold Weather Package (which added heated seats, an engine block heater, and traction control), as well as the Audiophile Package (with its six-disc in-dash CD changer). Power comes from the Ford 2.0L I-4 engine, which was factory-rated to produce 170 horsepower and 145 pound-feet of torque, though this one has been treated to a larger throttle body. Power flows to the front wheels via a six-speed manual transmission.

We have seen a couple of other nice, lower-mile Ford Focus SVT models hit the auction block as of late, giving hot hatch fans some pretty nice options in that regard. That list includes a 2004 model with 43k miles, as well as another 2004 with 75k on the clock.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.
