The Mercury Marauder – like all of its Panther platform counterparts – is a sought after entity on the collector car market these days, but perhaps even more so, given the fact that it’s a performance-focused model produced in limited quantities. Regardless, we see quite a few Marauders pop up for sale on a regular basis, largely because of this reason, and many of them haven’t traveled too many miles, either. The latest to join that list is this – a very nice Canadian market 2003 Mercury Marauder.
This 2003 Mercury Marauder is currently up for auction at Bring a Trailer with 26k miles – or around 16k miles – on the clock. Like most of the 11,000 Marauders produced across two model years, it’s finished in black on the outside, and remains in stellar condition, too. In fact, the auction listing doesn’t note the presence of any flaws on the exterior of the big sedan, nor its 18-inch five-spoke forged wheels, which are now wrapped with a set of BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KWDS tires.
Inside the cabin, one will find a little bit or normal creasing on the Dark Charcoal leather-covered, power-adjustable front bucket seats, which is to be expected. There are plenty of amenities, including the Audiophile sound system, an AM/FM/CD/cassette stereo, cruise control, power-adjustable pedals, and automatic climate control. Power comes from the naturally-aspirated Ford 4.6L V8, which in this guise was factory-rated to produce 302 horsepower and 318 pound-feet of torque and is mated to a four-speed automatic transmission and a 3.55-geared limited-slip differential.
This is one of many nice, lower-mile Mercury Marauder sedans we’ve seen cross the auction block as of late, as previously mentioned. That list includes another 2003 model that’s one of just 330 finished in Dark Blue Pearl paint, as well as a 2004 Dark Toreador Red model with a mere 24k miles on the clock.
Comment
I use to own a 2004 model, it would nice to fire Failure Farley and the rest of Ford’s anti-sedan executives and replace them with executives who know how to make a profit on sedans.
