The Ford Focus RS was discontinued some time ago, but it remains a coveted hot hatch among fans of that sort of thing. With the Focus itself set to head to the proverbial automotive graveyard later this year, that doesn’t figure to change, and we’re seeing prices of the hotter ST and RS variants steadily rise as a result. Throw in the fact that this 2018 Ford Focus RS is a Limited Edition model – one of just 1,500 produced in total – and it should certainly command its fair share of attention at auction, which is precisely where it’s up for grabs right now.
This 2018 Ford Focus RS Limited Edition has 46k miles on the clock and is up for auction at Bring a Trailer. It’s finished in Nitrous Blue Metallic Quad-Coat – one of just two colors available on the Limited Edition, other than Race Red – and was ordered without a sunroof. However, there are some flaws worth noting, including weatherstripping that’s detaching from the doors, worn coating on the headlight lenses, cracks on the front Blue Oval badge, a dent on the roof, paint chips on the hood and roof, and scrapes on both the front bumper cover and the right side skirt.
Inside, one will find Charcoal Black leather and Miko Dinamica microsuede-covered Recaro front bucket seats, along with dual-zone automatic climate control, a carbon-fiber shift knob and handbrake lever, SYNC infotainment with navigation, and a CD stereo. Power comes from the turbocharged 2.3L I-4 EcoBoost engine, originally rated to produce 350 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque, which is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox and a Quaife limited-slip front differential driving all four wheels via a torque-vectoring all-wheel-drive system.
This is one of a few Ford Focus RS models we’ve seen surface for sale in recent months, a list that includes everything from a 1k-mile 2016 model to another from the same model year with 500 miles, plus a third with 71 miles that’s the only U.S. market example finished in Magnetic Metallic. Otherwise, we also spotted another RS Limited Edition for sale last October as well, which was finished in Race Red.
