The Lincoln Continental Coach Door Edition debuted for the 2019 model year as a celebration of the luxury brand’s 80th anniversary. Ultimately, FoMoCo severely underestimated demand for the Lincoln Continental Coach Edition, however, as it built just 80 total units at first – each of which sold out in 48 hours, in spite of their $110k+ price tag. Thus, Ford decided to continue production and ultimately built 230 total units of this special luxury sedan including 150 for the 2020 model year, and today, they’re all coveted collectibles, making this one a prime target for collectors.
This 2020 Lincoln Continental Coach Door Edition is currently up for auction over at Bring a Trailer with a pretty low 13k miles on the clock, and it looks to be in excellent condition overall. The Infinite Black Metallic paint doesn’t have any noted flaws, and covers a car with a wheelbase that’s been stretched six inches, resulting in longer rear-hinged doors and copious amounts of rear passenger space.
Inside the cabin, one will find heated, ventilated, massaging, and 30-way power-adjustable front seats trimmed in Alpine Venetian leather, along with heated, ventilated, massaging, and power-adjustable seats in the rear. Rear seat passengers also get their own climate and audio controls, power sunshades, fold-out tray tables, wireless device charging, and a bottle holder, and the entire cabin is dressed up in Silverwood trim and Espresso leather, along with an Alcantara headliner and a 19-speaker Revel Ultima sound system. Power comes from the twin-turbocharged 3.0L V6 EcoBoost engine, which was originally rated to send 400 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque to all four wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission.
We’ve seen a few Continental Coach Door Edition models pop up for auction over the years, and they typically garner plenty of attention every time they do – not surprising given their rarity and cool factor. That list includes a 2019 model with 14k miles on the clock, as well as another 2020 with a mere 1,100 miles.
