2021 Ford GT ’66 Heritage Edition Resurfaces After Two Years

Among the many special variants that have existed within its model lineup over the years, the 2021 Ford GT ’66 Heritage Edition was designed to pay homage to one thing, in particular – the 1966 Daytona 24 Hour Continental, where The Blue Oval secured its first-ever 24 hour endurance win, a moment that was also recreated in the smash hit film Ford v Ferrari. That limited-edition model is obviously quite collectible and valuable – as is the case with pretty much every Ford GT these days – but now, this particular ’66 Heritage Edition is back on the auction block for the second time in nearly two years.

We last saw this 2021 Ford GT ’66 Heritage Edition go up for sale later in 2023, when it had 353 miles on the clock and wound up hammering for a whopping $1.2 million. Now, it’s back, being auctioned off at Bring a Trailer with 13 additional miles showing on the odometer – seeking a payday once again. As one would expect, it’s in essentially brand new condition, with perfect Frozen White paint accented by black and red graphics that celebrate that historic, aforementioned race victory. Otherwise, it’s pretty standard Ford GT fare, with notable features including a set of 20-inch gloss carbon-fiber wheels and paint protection film covering the body, underbody, and rear diffuser.

The same goes for the cabin, which touts a set of red Alcantara-covered Sparco seats with manually reclining carbon-fiber shells, exposed carbon fiber trim on the door sills, dashboard, center console, and door panels, Heritage graphics, an adjustable pedal box and steering column, six-point racing harness anchors, automatic climate control, and a touchscreen infotainment system.

As is the case with every Ford GT from this latest generation, this ’66 Heritage Edition is powered by the twin-turbocharged Ford 3.5L V6 EcoBoost engine, which was factory-rated to produce 660 horsepower and 550 pound-feet of torque, flowing to the rear wheels via a Getrag seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.
