2024 Ford Bronco Recalled Over Malfunctioning Child Safety Lock

Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2024 Ford Bronco four-door models over an issue with the child safety locks. This recall expands previous recall number 24V-189.

The defect: in affected vehicles, the left-side rear door may be opened from the inside of the vehicle when the child safety lock is in the “ON” position.

The hazards: a malfunctioning child safety lock that allows a rear door to be opened unintentionally can increase the risk of injury.

Ford is not aware of any reports of accidents or injuries related to this issue.

Affected vehicles: select 2024 Ford Bronco four-door SUVs produced between January 19th, 2024, and January 25th, 2024.

Number of vehicles affected: 2,002

The fix: dealers will inspect the child safety locks and replace the rear door latch, as necessary, free of charge.

Owners should: wait for communications from Ford, which will begin on May 26th, 2025. The Ford reference number for this recall is 24S15.
