2025 Ford Mustang Mach-E: All Revised BlueCruise Plans Explained

Ford has been pulling back on the complimentary BlueCruise subscriptions it offers with the purchase of a new vehicle. Less than a week after dropping the version 1.4 update, The Blue Oval shook up its BlueCruise subscription structure. Said changes directly impact the 2025 Ford Mustang Mach-E, one of the models that is able to run the semi-autonomous driver assist tech.

Certain 2025 Ford Mustang Mach-E trims – that is, Select and Premium – include a 90-day complementary trial of BlueCruise features. Beyond that trial period, Mustang Mach-E owners must purchase a subscription to continue using their driver assist tech. For the 2025 model year, buyers are given the opportunity to purchase a one-year subscription for $495. Meanwhile, the 2025 Ford Mustang Mach-E GT includes the one-year plan as standard.

2025 Ford Mustang Mach-E owners can also opt for a new one-time purchase deal for $2,495. This option ensures that the electric crossover will have access to BlueCruise tech for a minimum of seven years. The automaker states that no additional subscription purchase will be required after the seven years to continue using BlueCruise, but buyers should be aware that the tech will only continue to work if the service is still available after that timeframe.

It’s also critical to note that the one-time BlueCruise purchase cannot be transferred. Because BlueCruise is tied to a vehicle’s VIN, any pre-owned Ford originally purchased with a lifetime subscription retains the feature, meaning the new owner can still take advantage of it. That also means that it can’t be transferred to a new Ford vehicle, either.

For comparison, on 2024 model year vehicles, buyers could choose a three-year BlueCruise subscription when purchasing their Mustang Mach-E to continue service after the 90-day trial period. However, this option is no longer available at all.

Production of the 2025 Mustang Mach-E, which occurs at the Cuautitlan Assembly plant in Mexico, began on January 6th, 2025. Because of its assembly location, the electric crossover is subject to recently enacted tariffs, pushing its starting price to $37,995, not including destination freight charges.
