Ford Bronco 60th Anniversary Potentially Teased For August Reveal

The sixth-generation Ford Bronco debuted for the 2021 model year following a quarter-century absence in general, but as many are well aware, the rugged SUV originally came to be for the 1966 model year. Thus, that makes 2026 a pretty special model year for the Ford Bronco, as it would mark 60 years since that debut, and it’s easy to assume that The Blue Oval might be cooking up something to celebrate. Turns out, that may very well be the case, as the automaker posted a pretty interesting story on the official Ford Bronco Instagram account recently hinting that a 60th anniversary model may be in the works.

Bronco Nation was able to snag a screenshot of this teaser, which says “Ford celebrates Bronco: 60 years of capability and adventure, August 1st-2nd, 2025, Silver Lake Sand Dunes, Michigan.” The story also contained a countdown timer of just over 21 days, at which time one can register to attend this particular event. More interestingly, the background photo used in the story features a white Ford Bronco fender wearing a red and black badge that reads “Bronco Est. 1966.”

We already know that the Michigan Bronco Club is hosting its 60th Birthday Bash at Silver Lake on this specific day, which has been in the works for some time now. Now, it seems likely that Ford will be bringing along a very special variant to help mark that occasion, and we’d wager that it’s a 60th anniversary edition of some sort. Aside from this evidence that strongly hints at that possibility, there’s another big clue suggesting that’s what we’re looking at – this treatment looks a whole lot like the one present on the 2025 Ford Mustang 60th Anniversary Package, which also features white paint with unique red badging, though it’s also available in a couple of other exterior hues.

Otherwise, it’s a bit unclear what sort of changes we can expect to see with the 2026 Ford Bronco. It’s been rumored that the SUV is in line to receive a mid-cycle refresh for the next model year, and roughly two years ago, Kumar Galhotra, president of Ford Blue, revealed that “Work,” Premium,” and “Heritage +” models could be in the works as well.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.
