Ford Bronco Police Chase Ends With Massive Six Vehicle Wreck

As we’ve seen time and time again over the years, running from police is rarely – if ever – a good idea. While a tiny select few wind up escaping the long arm of the law – at least temporarily – more often than not, police chases generally end with bad wrecks, injuries, arrests, and of course, extra charges. Regardless, that hasn’t stopped folks from trying to run from police rather than pull over, and recently, a Ford Bronco driver caused some major damage during their own attempt to flee police in Hernando County, Florida.

According to WFLA News, a Florida Highway Patrol officer attempted to pull the Ford Bronco driver over, but instead of complying, they opted to flee, after which they even attempted to hit another officer that was conducting a traffic stop on another vehicle. Things just escalated from there as the Bronco driver hit US-19 and sped off, making it impossible for law enforcement to perform a PIT maneuver. The Ford Bronco driver even brake checked police so effectively that it caused two vehicles to collide.

Eventually, the chase reached an intersection, which is where it came to a shocking and abrupt end when the SUV hit a whopping six vehicles before coming to a stop. Somewhat amazingly, only one person was seriously injured, but now, the Ford Bronco driver is facing a litany of charges – including felon in possession of weapons and ammunition, reckless driving, aggravated fleeing to elude, aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer, and driving under the influence. Police found brass knuckles, two swords, a crossbow, a police radio, and a bow and arrow in the vehicle, to boot.

This is just the latest of several Ford-involved police chases gone bad in recent months, unfortunately. That list also includes a Fusion driver that wound up getting t-boned at an intersection during a chase, several wrecked F-150 pickups, and even a Mercury Milan that crashed when trying to evade the law in the snow.

  • This is the exact reason why high-speed chases are not worth it, especially in busy city streets. We have too much technology these days to warrant this much damage and injuries.

    • Well if someone kidnapped your loved one and sped off, you would be awfully angry if the cops told you, "sorry, we don't chase anyone."

  • I think the Police should loud halo the suspect to stop and if they don't they should blast them, end of, no argument.
