The newest generation of the Ford Everest debuted in select global markets a few years ago, and instantly found its footing with customers seeking an off-road-capable and rather practical SUV. In fact, early demand for the Everest caught Ford by surprise in places like Australia, where it now ranks as the company’s second best-selling model overall, behind only the Ford Ranger. As such, we’ve seen a few new Ford Everest variants added to the lineup in recent months, and that now includes the Sport Special Edition.
The Ford Everest Sport Special Edition debuted for Thailand back in March, and now, it’s also heading to the Philippines, where customers that appreciate a bit more style will certainly be intrigued by what it has to offer. In the Philippines, the Everest Sport Special Edition adds a host of unique features to the regular Sport trim, starting on the outside. Those include a black roof and spoiler, 20-inch black alloy wheels with red inserts, along with “Everest” hood lettering. Exterior color options consist of Aluminum Metallic and Snowflake White Pearl.
Inside the cabin, the Ford Everest Sport Special Edition is equipped with a mixture of leather and synthetic leather seating, coupled with a 12-inch touchscreen running SYNC 4A, and a wireless charging pad. Power comes from the turbocharged Ford 2.0L diesel engine, which produces 170 PS (168 horsepower) and 405 Nm (299 pound-feet) of torque, mated to the six-speed automatic transmission and two-wheel drive. Pricing for the new model starts out at P2,194,000 ($39,492 USD).
In addition to the new Ford Everest Sport Special Edition, customers in select markets can also now get the more off-road focused Tremor, though a plug-in hybrid version isn’t currently in the plans, despite the fact that a Ranger PHEV is. However, as Ford Authority recently reported, The Blue Oval hasn’t ruled out creating an Everest Super Duty following the debut of the Ranger Super Duty, a highly-capable version of the mid-size pickup that it’s based on.

WHY OH WHY GOD WON’T JIM FARLEY BRING THE “EVEREST” TO THE GOOD OLD US of A????? IT WOULD BE A HUGE SELLER FOR SURE. I COULD BE THE FIRST CUSTOMER TO BUY ONE!!!!!!
Chuck, I totally agree. I work in sales at a Ford dealership, and it seems all they do is delete models, without replacing them. This vehicle would do great in the states, and I’d also like to see them bring a sedan back.
This is the Explorer they took away from us! I owned 3 Explorers consecutively. Once the unibody “Explorer” replaced the body on frame…that was it…F150 from that point on…ford really messed this one up…
Perfectly sized for what I want and need. Not too big, not too small.
It’s the “Momma Bear” that Ford took away after canceling the Edge.
Bring it here!
There’s plenty of capacity at Michigan Assembly. This would be a great replacement for the Edge.
With the Escape soon departing, Ford will soon have nothing to compete with the Chevrolet Equinox and the Trailblazer. Get with it Ford.
This vehicle reminds me most of the Toyota 4Runner because of its body-on-frame construction and rugged off-road capability with the Tremor. Of course, Toyota has the 4Runner and Highlander, why can’t Ford have the Everest and Explorer? Well, one reason is they already have the Bronco in North America, and Everest would compete with the Explorer and Bronco. However, the “lane gap” between the Bronco and Explorer is larger than between the 4Runner and Highlander. If Ford were to bring the Everest to North America they could make models that span the range from luxury off-road (to compete with Grand Cherokees and Defenders) to practical road models that replace the Edge. They would obviously replace the diesel engines with ecoboost gas engines.
I am also a bit perplexed that Ford appears to be completely ditching their aerodynamic crossovers (Edge and Escape) and will end up with an almost entirely boxy SUV lineup, with the least boxy being the Explorer. I happen to like boxy SUVs and I drive a Bronco, but a lot of people prefer the aerodynamic ones (look at RAV4 and CRV sales).
The Everest looks like the Bronco Sport. Or, somewhat in between the Sport and the Explorer. I doubt that the turbo diesel would be welcome in the U.S. Too bad.
It’s available with the 2.3 turbo gas engine.
PLEASE BRING TO THE U.S. FORD!!!
Ford needs to bring the Everest and the Puma to the US
